Your American Airlines ticket number can be found:

  • In the ‘Receipt’ section of the confirmation email you received when you purchased your ticket.
  • On your credit card statement (next to the charged amount)
  • Your ticket’s receipt

American Airlines’ ticket number is a 13-character code. The first three digits are the airline code (001 for American Airlines) followed by the ticket number (last 10 digits). Add-on like upgrades, bags, seats, etc., have separate ticket numbers.

American Airlines reservations can be made up to 2 hours before departure. If your flight departs in less than 2 hours, go straight to the airport’s ticket counter.

You can make your American Airlines reservations up to 331 days before departure.

You can make a reservation for up to 6 passengers in one American Airlines booking on aa.com—but as many as you like via +1-844-903-1897.

American Airlines allows you to hold your reservation for up to 24 hours (free of charge) if you book at least 7 days before your flight’s departure. This is how American Airlines’ hold reservation works:

  • Choose your flight(s)
  • On the Review and Pay page, select ‘Hold’
  • Check your confirmation email or go to My Trips to pay
  • Complete your purchase before 24 hours or the reservation will automatically cancel

On select flights, you can pay to hold your American Airlines reservation for a longer period.
