Breeze Airways Baggage Policy

If you’re travelling on a Nice fare (the equivalent of an Economy Basic/Lite fare), you will be charged baggage fees for both carry-on and checked baggage. The Breeze Airways baggage policy allows only 1 small personal item (laptop bag, small backpack, briefcase, or purse) free of charge for all fare types (Nice, Nicer, and Nicest). Nicer fares additionally include 1 carry-on and 1 checked bag and Nicest fares include 1 carry-on bag and 2 checked bags free of charge.

Below are the major highlights of Breeze Airways baggage policy and fees:

• Carry-on Baggage
  The free carry-on baggage allowance on Breeze Airways is:
  • Only 1 small personal item for Nice fares—such as a laptop bag, backpack, briefcase, or purse.
  • 1 small personal item plus 1 carry-on bag for Nicer fares.
  • 1 small personal item plus 1 carry-on bag for Nicest fares.
• Checked Baggage 

The free checked baggage allowance on Breeze Airways is:

• Nil for Nice fares—it must be purchased. 
• 1 checked bag for Nicer fares.
• 2 checked bags for Nicest fares. 

Note. The size of a standard checked bag is 62in in combined linear dimensions (length + width + height). Larger-sized bags will incur an oversized baggage fee.

• Baggage Fees 
  • The earlier you purchase baggage online through Breeze Airways’ website/app, the lower the baggage fees.

  • The baggage fee for a standard checked bag is USD 50 when purchased within 4 hours of departure—whether online through FlyBreeze.com, the Breeze mobile app, an airport team member, or a Guest Empowerment Team Member.
  • The overweight baggage fee charged by Breeze Airways (in addition to the bag price) is:
    • USD 20 for a bag weighing between 51-70lb.
    • USD 50 for a bag weighing between 71-99lb.

Note: Bags weighing more than 99lb will not be accepted.

• The baggage fees (and allowance) for unaccompanied minors are the same as that for adults.
• The oversized baggage fee charged by Breeze Airways (in addition to the bag price) is:
  • USD 50 for a bag measuring between 63-80in in combined linear dimensions (length + width + height).

Note: Bags measuring more than 80in in combined linear dimensions will not be accepted.

• Baggage Limit. The maximum baggage limit per passenger is:
  • 1 standard carry-on bag, and 
  • 5 standard checked bags, subject to excess baggage charges
    (restrictions may apply to certain destinations and during busy travel periods)
• Assistive Devices can be transported for free.
  • You may need to package them separately from regular baggage items. 
  • They include mobility devices like walkers, crutches, canes, wheelchairs, scooters, and medication.
  • To have priority access to the overhead bin, you can request to pre-board.
• Baggage Check-in. The check-in time limit for bags is at least 40 minutes before a flight’s scheduled departure time. 

Breeze Airways Baggage Limits

According to the Breeze Airways baggage policy, the baggage limits by weight and size apply to each baggage item, as shown below.

• Free Personal Item
  • Size Limit. The dimensions of the free personal item must not exceed 17in x 13in x 8in.
  • Weight Limit. There’s no weight limit, as long as it fits under your front seat.
• Carry-on Bags
  • Size Limit. The dimensions of your carry-on bag (incl. wheels and handles) must not exceed 24in (Height) x 14in (Width) x 8in (Depth) and it must fit in the overhead bin space.
  • Weight Limit. The weight of your carry-on bag must not exceed 35lb.
• Checked Bags 
  • Size Limit. The dimensions of your checked bag must not exceed 62in in combined linear dimensions (length + width + height). Bags exceeding 62 linear inches will be considered oversized and incur an oversized baggage charge.
  • Weight Limit. The maximum weight of your checked bag must not exceed 50lb. Bags exceeding 50lb will be considered overweight and incur an overweight baggage charge.

Note: The following items do not count toward your carry-on baggage allowance and can be transported for free if properly stowed during ground movement, takeoff, and landing:

• Pet carrier for breeze airways when travelling with a service animal
• Canes, crutches, braces, or other prosthetic devices on which the passenger is dependent
• Other assistive devices and service animals
• Food for inflight consumption
• Infant bag if travelling with an infant
• Collapsible stroller if a child is carried in it (must be gate-checked)
• Child/infant car seats (must be checked in unless a separate seat is purchased for the child using it
• 1 duty-free bag with duty-free items
• Outer garments (hats, wraps, coats, etc.)
• Inflight reading material 
• Umbrella 

Breeze Airways Baggage Size

The Breeze Airways’ baggage size for standard baggage items is:

• 17in x 13in x 8in for the free personal item. 
• 24in x 14in x 8in (height x width x depth) for a carry-on bag. 
• 62 linear inches (length + width + height) for a checked bag.

Bags exceeding the above-mentioned size will incur an oversized baggage fee.

Breeze Airways Checked Baggage Weight & Size

Breeze Airways’ checked baggage weight and size limits are as follows:

• The checked baggage weight must not exceed 50lb per bag.
  Bags exceeding 50lb will be subject to an overweight baggage fee.
• The checked baggage size must not exceed 62 linear inches per bag (L + W + H).

Checked bags exceeding 50lb or 62 linear inches per bag will be charged an overweight and/or oversized baggage fee. Bags exceeding 99lb or 80 linear inches will not be accepted.

Checked baggage fee for short routes

Breeze Airways checked baggage fee (online) for Nice fares on short routes (such as from Charleston, SC to Orlando, Florida) is typically around*: 

• USD 35 for the first checked bag. 
• USD 40 for the second checked bag. 
• USD 50 for the third checked bag. 

* Booked online on January 16, 2023, for a flight departing on January 19, 2023.

Checked baggage fee for long routes

How much are baggage fees usually for long routes?

Breeze Airways’ checked baggage fee for coast-to-coast flights (such as from Westchester, New York to LA) is typically around*: 

• USD 39 for the first checked bag
• USD 40 for the second checked bag
• USD 50 for the third checked bag

* Booked online on January 16, 2023, for a flight departing on January 19, 2023.

Note

• The baggage prices are applicable per passenger and bag. 
• The baggage fee is USD 50/bag if purchased at the airport or through a Guest Empowerment Team Member. 
• Overweight bags will attract an additional charge of USD 20 (51-71lb) and USD 50 (71-99lb). 
• Oversized bags (63-80in) will attract an additional charge of USD 50/bag. 
• Bags exceeding 99lb or 80 linear inches (L + W + H) will not be accepted. 

Breeze Airways Carry-on Baggage Fee

Carry-on baggage fee for short routes

The carry-on baggage fee for Nice fares on a short route, such as from Charleston, SC to Orlando, Florida, is typically about USD 29 (applicable if booked online on Jan. 16, 2023, for a flight departing 3 days later. The maximum number of carry-on bags permitted is 1 per passenger.

Carry-on baggage fee for long routes

The carry-on baggage fee for Nice fares on coast-to-coast flights, such as a flight from Westchester, New York to Lost Angeles is USD 35 if booked online on Jan. 16, 2023, for a flight departing on January 19, 2023.

Note

• You’re not allowed to bring more than 1 carry-on bag per passenger. 
• The carry-on baggage fee applies per passenger. 

Breeze Airways Military Baggage

Breeze Airways’ military baggage allowance for active-duty military members is: 

• 1 small personal item
• 1 carry-on bag of up to 35lb
• 2 checked bags of up to 50lb each

However, the following must pay the regular baggage charges on Breeze:

• Retired military members
• Families of active-duty military members
• ROTC

Note: Active-duty military members don’t need to add bags when booking, as this will be done at the airport. To receive their free baggage allowance, they must check in at the ticket counter and present their valid military ID, which will be re-verified at the gate to ensure they receive their free carry-on baggage and pre boarding courtesy. As with other passengers, bags exceeding 99lb will not 

Checked bags larger than 99 lbs will not be accepted.

Assistive Devices on Breeze Airways

Breeze Airways baggage fees are nil for mobility devices like walkers, canes, crutches, wheelchairs, scooters, and medication. All such items can be carried free of charge, provided:

• They are being used by the passenger 
• They are packed separately from normal baggage items
• They can pass through the aircraft’s cargo doors measuring 35in x 43in. If your device needs to be disassembled, the Breeze staff will promptly reassemble it upon arrival. 

Tip. If you’re using assistive an device, you can request to pre-board the aircraft so that you can gain priority access to the overhead compartment space. 

• Breeze Airways offers priority cabin space for 1 large mobility device or wheelchair on a first-come-first-served availability basis. Other mobility items that can fit in the overhead bin space or under the seat are permitted on board.
• Before checking an assistive device, you must securely fasten proper identification to the device.
• Breeze Airways accepts scooters and electric wheelchairs only as checked baggage.
  • If travelling with any of these devices, you must reach the airport at least 90 minutes before departure and breeze airways check in at the departure gate no less than 45 minutes before departure. 
  • Before checking in an electric-powered scooter or wheelchair, you must:
    • Disconnect the cables 
    • Disconnect the battery, or 
    • Remove the battery if unable to load, stow, and unload the device in an upright manner
    • Protect the terminals against shorting
    • Keep the terminals in a leak-proof box that is securely fastened to the device

Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POCs)

Breeze Airways baggage policy accepts FAA-approved portable oxygen concentrators (POCs) free of charge, subject to the following conditions:

• Book a special service request to bring a POC during the booking process, or later by phone, through your travel agent, or FlyBreeze.com via My Trips as follows:
  • Locate your reservation
  • Click on the right arrow to expand the flight
  • Click on the Edit button 
  • View all the options 
  • Make the booking 
  • Save the changes and check out

The new request will appear under your name on the Trip Itinerary page.

• The usage of a POC is permitted on the aircraft only if it contains a label with the following statement in red letters: “The manufacturer of this POC has determined this device conforms to all applicable FAA acceptance criteria for POC carriage and use on board aircraft.”
• The POC must be stowed under the passenger’s front.
• The POC must be within the dimensions specified for carry-on baggage 
• The POC must comply with FAA safety requirements
• The passenger must bring enough fully-charged batteries into the cabin to run the device for at least 150% of the flight duration, as no power outlets are available on board. 
• Additional batteries must be packed and protected from short-circuiting and damage. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Breeze Airways Baggage Restrictions

The following items are restricted, i.e., they are classified as hazardous and are not allowed to be carried in baggage. 

• Liquor products exceeding 140 proof
• Gasoline-powered tools
• Compressed gases
• Corrosive materials, such as wet batteries, acids, etc.
• Explosive materials, such as dynamite, fireworks, etc.
• Flammable materials like matches, lighter fuels, etc.
• Poisons
• Radioactive, magnetic, and similar items
• Other dangerous, hazardous, prohibited, or restricted materials are listed in the following resources on the day of travel:

Breeze Airways Lost Baggage | Delayed Baggage | Damaged Baggage

If your baggage is lost or damaged on Breeze Airways or does not arrive at your destination, you must immediately file a report with the Baggage Claim Department (at the airport) within 1 hour of your flight’s arrival, unless an applicable treaty or law requires a longer period. 

Breeze Airways baggage policy will try to deliver the baggage to you within 24 hours of arrival at no cost. However, if the baggage delay is due to your late check-in, a change of destination after check-in, or if you’re on standby travel, the baggage will be delivered at your expense.

If your Breeze Airways lost baggage cannot be located after 5 days, you must file a follow-up claim through a Breeze Contact Center. 

To submit a compensation claim (for lost, delayed, or damaged baggage, or pilferage), you must contact a Breeze Airways agent in the Baggage Claim area. If you’re claiming for items with a declared value of USD 50 or higher, you will be required to provide receipts for each such item. Plus, if you’re seeking reimbursement for interim expenses incurred by you to the delayed or lost baggage, you must provide valid proof of any expense incurred by you as long as it is within reasonable limits. The time limit for submitting such documents is within 30 days of arrival unless a longer period is stated by the applicable law or treaty.

Breeze Airways Baggage Policy for Sports Equipment

The Breeze Airways baggage policy allows the carriage of sporting equipment as part of your carry-on or checked baggage allowance, and must comply with the applicable weight and size requirements. Sporting equipment that exceeds the weight and size limits will incur overweight and/or oversize baggage charges, subject to the following exemptions below.

Note. When checking in any sporting gear, you will be required to sign a limited liability release form.

• Archery Equipment
  • Includes 1 bow, 1 quiver, 12 arrows, plus a medium-sized target.
  • Must be checked (preferably in a hard-sided container).
• Sports Balls
  • Can be transported in a carry-on or checked bag.
  • Should be deflated (slightly or completely) so that they can be packed easily.
• Baseball Geat
  • Includes up to 2 bats (in checked baggage only). 
  • Other equipment may be transported in a carry-on or checked bag.
• Boogie boards, Bodyboards, Wakeboards, and Skimboards
  • Includes 1 board not exceeding 62 linear inches as part of your checked baggage. 
  • Must remove fins and keels to prevent damage. 
• Bowling Equipment 
  • If brought as carry-ons, bowling bags can include 1 pair of bowling shoes and 1 bowling ball, both of which must fit under your front seat. 
  • Bowling balls:
    • Cannot be stored in overhead compartments.
    • Can also be checked.
• Camping Gear
  • Includes sleeping bags, backpacks, and knapsacks. 
  • Can be transported as carry-on or checked baggage.
• Firearms and Ammunition
  • Includes:
    • 1 sporting gun case with up to 2 rifles, 2 shotguns, or 4 pistols (fully unloaded). 
    • No more than 11lb of ammunition in the original or equivalent container, made of wood, metal, or fiber designed specifically for carrying ammunition.
  • Must be transported as checked baggage. 
• Fishing Gear
  • Includes up to 2 fishing rods, 1 fishing reel, 1 tackle box, 1 landing net, and 1 pair of fishing boots. 
  • Can be brought as carry-on or checked baggage. However, large fishhooks and other potentially dangerous articles will only be accepted in checked bags if properly sheathed and wrapped.
• Football Equipment
  • Includes up to 1 set of pads, 1 helmet, 1 mouthguard, 1 uniform, and 1 pair of shoes. 
  • Can be brought as carry-on or checked baggage.
• Golf Equipment
  • Includes a golf bag containing a set of golf clubs, 1 box of golf balls (4 sleeves), 1 pair of golf shoes, 1 glove, and tees.
  • Golf clubs must be checked.
  • Exempt from oversize baggage fee.
  • Must be transported in a hard-sided case.
• Hockey Equipment
  • Includes a hockey bag containing 2 hockey sticks, securely wrapped together.
  • Recommended to pack ice skates in the hockey bag to prevent TSA screening delays.
  • Must be checked.
  • No oversize baggage charges apply to hockey sticks.
• Kitesurfing Boards
  • Includes 1 kitesurfing board comprising a board, boom, and mast.
  • The boards must be securely packed to prevent other bags from being damaged. 
  • Must be checked in.
  • The size of the checked bag must not exceed 62in in combined linear dimensions. 
• Lacrosse Equipment
  • Includes a lacrosse bag comprising 2 lacrosse sticks, wrapped securely together.
  • Recommended to remove the heads from sticks and add them to your equipment bag/carry-on bag. 
  • No oversize baggage charges apply to lacrosse sticks.
• Martial Arts Gear
  • Must be securely packed in checked bags.
• Paintball Equipment
  • Must be checked (unlocked) in a hard- or soft-sided bag. 
  • Compressed gas cylinders are not allowed.
• Sporting Parachutes
  • Can be transported as carry-on or checked baggage. 
  • No hazardous accessories are permitted, such as compressed gas cylinders and flares.
• Skates, Skateboards, and Longboards
  • Includes 1 non-motorized longboard/skateboard in a proper bag/container.
  • Can be carried on or checked. 
  • If carried on, must comply be within the carry-on size limits. 
  • Should (preferably) be stored under your front seat with the wheels up.
• Scuba Gear
  • Includes 1 pair of fins, 1 mask, 1 snorkel, and 1 weight belt. 
  • Must be packed in a suitable bag/container. 
  • Can be carried on or checked. 
  • Sharp/pointed objects like knives, spear guns (unloaded), and tools must be securely wrapped and packed inside checked bags only.
  • Scuba tanks will not be accepted.
• Snowboard Equipment and Skis
  • Includes 1 snowboard or 1 pair of skis securely packed in a bag/container, along with 1 helmet, 1 set of poles, and a pair of ski boots.
  • If a separate bag containing the boots is an actual boot bag, it will be considered as part of a single item. Otherwise, an additional charge for a checked bag will apply. 

• Bags exceeding 60in in linear dimensions (L + W + H) and/or 50lb in weight will incur oversize and/or overweight baggage charges. 
• Tennis Equipment
  • Includes tennis rackets. 
  • Can be transported in carry-on or checked bags.
  • Recommended to check the equipment, as the final decision will rest with the TSA officer. 
• Water Ski Equipment
  • Includes a waterski bag containing 1 pair of water skis, 1 life vest/belt, and 1 tow rope.
  • Bags exceeding 62in in combined linear dimensions and/or 50lb in weight will incur oversize and/or overweight baggage charges.
