What is the revised Air France cancellation policy in 2022?

Air France has once again amended its cancellation policy due to COVID-19. The updated Air France cancellation policy allows you to cancel, change, or refund your ticket depending on when you purchased it and for what travel date, as indicated below.

1. If your flight was cancelled, you can:
   1. Postpone your trip and travel on another flight, as long as you request before your flight’s departure.
   2. Cancel your trip and request a refund if you no longer wish to travel, subject to the laws and regulations of the country of ticket purchase. 
2. If your ticket was issued before March 1, 2022, for travel on/before June 30, 2022, you can:
   1. Postpone your trip (except for group fares and allotments) and travel later at no additional charge, as long as you pay the difference in fares if the original fare is no longer available.
   2. Cancel your trip and:
      1. Request a refundable travel voucher to book your new flight anytime within the next 1 year from its date of issue, regardless of the fare conditions of your ticket. 
      2. Request a refund (except for group fares and allotments), if the fare conditions of your ticket permit. 
3. If your ticket was issued before March 1, 2022, for travel on/after July 1, 2022, you can:
   1. Postpone your trip (except for group fares and allotments) and travel later at no additional charge, as long as you pay the difference in fares if the original fare is no longer available.
   2. Cancel your trip and:
      1. Request a non-refundable travel voucher to book a new flight. You can use the travel voucher anytime within the next 1 year from its date of issue.
      2. Request a refund (except for group fares and allotments), if the fare conditions of your ticket permit. 
4. If your ticket was issued between March 1, 2022, and June 28, 2022, you can:
   1. Postpone your trip (except for group fares and allotments) and travel later at no additional charge, as long as you pay the difference in fares if the original fare is no longer available.
   2. Cancel your trip and:
      1. Request a non-refundable travel voucher to book a new flight. You can use the travel voucher anytime within the next 1 year from its date of issue.
      2. Request a refund (except for group fares and allotments), if the fare conditions of your ticket permit. 
5. If your ticket was issued on/after June 29, 2022, you can:
   1. Make changes to your flight booking or cancel it, depending on the fare conditions of your ticket. You may be charged a change/cancellation fee and required to pay the difference in fares plus a service fee if you don’t make the changes online.

The Air France 24-hour cancellation policy applies to all tickets booked directly through Air France (website, mobile app, ticket counter, or call center) to/from the United States. Under this policy, you can cancel your flight booking without penalty if: 

• You book your ticket for a flight from or to the United States, and
• You book at least one week before your flight’s departure date, and
• You cancel your ticket within 24 hours of booking

• The 24-hour refund policy for tickets to or from the United States will always apply. If you book your ticket from the United States and directly through Air France at least 7 days before departure, you can cancel it within 24 hours and receive a full refund—no matter what type of ticket you’ve purchased. 
• You can also cancel your ticket and receive a full refund under the following conditions:
  • Air France cancels your flight.
  • Air France delays your flight by more than 5 hours.

• The Air France refund processing time can take several weeks due to a heavy overload. 

Note. If a single booking includes multiple passengers, the cancellation will apply to all the passengers within that booking.

You can cancel your Air France flight booking in the following ways:

How to Use an Air France Travel Voucher

Your Air France travel voucher is a non-transferrable credit voucher with a 1-year validity. You will receive it by email after making a refund request. You can use your travel voucher to purchase a new ticket or extra options on Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, or Delta Air Lines. Air France allows you to use up to 3 travel vouchers at a time to purchase a ticket.

• Travel vouchers issued between March 2020 and August 2021 are valid till August 2022. 
• Vouchers issued after September 1, 2021, are valid for 1 year after the date of issue. 

To use your travel voucher, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the airline’s official website, AirFrance.com 
2. Log in to your account 
3. You will be able to view your voucher/vouchers 
4. On the payment page, enter your voucher number (starts with 057) in the field marked Discount code, voucher, or gift card
5. Click on the Apply button 
6. The value of your voucher will be automatically deducted from the total amount due
7. Pay the balance amount (if any) using any of the payment options available on the website 

If your new ticket’s value is less than the value of your travel voucher, the balance will be converted into a new travel voucher with the same conditions as the original travel voucher.
