Frontier Airlines’ reimbursement for cancelled flights will depend on why your flight is cancelled—due to a controllable or an uncontrollable situation.

A controllable situation can include a delay, diversion, cancellation, or service delivery failure that is within the airline’s control—such as a flight delay, baggage delay, or a cancellation due to mechanical issues, aircraft damage, etc. If a Frontier Airlines flight is cancelled because of a controllable situation, you may be entitled to compensation, plus a full refund of the unused portion of your ticket. An uncontrollable situation can include flight diversions, delays, or cancellations that are not within the airline’s control—such as bad weather, aircraft damage due to bird strikes, Air Traffic Control, etc. If a Frontier Airlines flight is cancelled or delayed due to reasons outside its control, you will not be entitled to any compensation or reimbursement other than being rebooked on the next available flight or receiving a full refund on the unused portion of your ticket if your flight is cancelled or overly delayed.
