Turkish Airlines Cancellation Policy for 24-Hour Cancellations

If you make a booking to/from the United States, the Turkish Airlines cancellation policy allows you a 24-hour period during which your reservation will be held without payment and under no obligation to pay, as long as you book your ticket through Turkish Airlines official website, a U.S. reservation center, or ticket counter—and at least 7 days before your flight’s departure. 

After you pay for your ticket, the refund will be subject to the fare rules that apply to your ticket, regardless of whether you choose the “hold” option. However, if you don’t pay within the 24-hour period, your booking will be rendered invalid but you won’t be charged for it.

If the waiting time between the flight cancellation time and the departure time of your new flight exceeds 8 hours, you will be provided accommodation free of charge—along with to-and-fro transportation between the airport and your place of accommodation. 
  2. Cancel your flight and ask for a full refund if the next available flight does not suit you.

Turkish Airlines Cancellation Policy for COVID

If you could not board your Turkish Airlines/AnadoluJet flight between June 11, 2020, and October 31, 2022, because you were not accepted by the country of destination and/or tested COVID-positive, you make changes to your flight ticket, convert it into an open ticket, extend the validity of your ticket, or ask for a refund.

The Turkish Airlines cancellation policy allows you to:

  • Change your ticket anytime up to November 31, 2022, without paying an additional fee, as long as you travel in the same travel zone and travel class, excluding flights from/to Guanzo (CAN).

    I arrived at the airport to check-in that Monday the 25th, but was told that I missed my flight because it was on a Tuesday and not Monday the 25th at midnight.   • I wanted to know what Turkish Airlines is in the case that I bought the ticket from a travel agency. I got in touch with customer service in Turkish. The response came across as already irritated. After I asked a simple query about the cancellation policy, he began acting very passive aggressively. I decided not to continue the conversation and hung up since it is extremely disappointing that an airline with such a great reputation doesn’t seem to uphold the standards that their staff should adhere to while engaging with customers. Even though I am aware that these individuals are probably overworked and underpaid, there must be some form of quality control.
