Under Turkish Airlines cancellation rules, refunds will be made as follows:

  • If you purchased your ticket by credit card, the refund amount will be credited to the credit card issuer within 7 business days of your request. 
  • If you purchased your ticket by check or cash:
    • The amount will be refunded within 20 business days after your request. 
    • You should call Turkish Airlines for a refund.
  • When applying for a refund, be sure to provide the complete details, such as your name, address, ticket number, dates of travel, origin, and destination of travel, and credit card number. 
  • Your refund will include optional services you were unable to use due to an oversell situation or a flight cancellation.

Note. If you’re flying to/from the U.S., Turkish Airlines will allow you to hold your reservation for 24 hours—without payment—if you make the request at least 7 days before your date of departure.

Flexible Travel Options

Per the latest amendment to Turkish Airlines’ flight change policy, passengers can now avail of Flexible Travel options until March 31, 2022 (inclusive) for tickets purchased till December 31, 2021 (inclusive). 

According to the revised Turkish Airlines’ flight change policy, all travels scheduled between March 21, 2020 and December 31, 2021 (inclusive) can be exchanged for a new flight—or converted into an Open Ticket—for new travel until March 31, 2022 (inclusive).

To change your ticket to an Open Ticket, you must cancel your old reservation before your flight’s departure.

Under Turkish Airlines Business Class cancellation policy, Business Class Flexible fares on domestic flights can be cancelled free of charge if cancelled at least 12 hours before departure. If you cancel between 1 – 12 hours, you will be charged a cancellation fee of TRY 200. 

On international flights, Business Flexible fares can be cancelled before the flight but for a fee, depending on route. Business Restricted Fares may be cancelled for a fee depending on the route, but Business Promotions Fares cannot be cancelled

If you’re holding a Flexible Fare (Business or Economy), you will not be charged any change fee. In other cases, the change fee will depend on your route.

Turkish Airlines’ change date policy applies to passengers whose flights are scheduled between March 21, 2020 and December 31, 2021 (inclusive). You now have the option to change your flight date—or convert your ticket into an Open Ticket for future travel until March 31, 2022 (inclusive) at no additional price.

Yes, Turkish Airlines has a 24-hour cancellation policy. Under this policy, passengers who purchase a ticket (a) to/from the United States (b) from a US-based OTA (c) at least one week before departure are allowed to cancel their flight (d) within 24 hours and receive a full refund.

According to Turkish Airlines’ Business Class cancellation policy, Business Promotion fares are non-refundable—only taxes are refunded. Business Restricted and Business Flexible fares can be refunded but will be subject to specified deductions as laid out in the fare conditions.
