Condor offers compensation to passengers in the event of flight cancellation, flight delay, and boarding denial. The amount of compensation will depend on the circumstances and the length of the delay or cancellation. Condor follows the guidelines set forth by the European Union Regulation (EC) 261/2004, which outlines passenger rights in these situations. 

According to Condor cancellation policy, you may be entitled to financial compensation, reimbursement for any additional expenses incurred as a result of the delay or cancellation, and assistance such as meals and accommodations. 

In cases of boarding denial due to boarding denials, flight cancellations, and delays of at least 2 hours, you have certain rights under the regulation, as indicated below. 

Eligibility. The rights below apply only to passengers with confirmed flight bookings who present themselves at the check-in counter at the indicated time (or at least 45 minutes prior to departure if no such time has been indicated) and have purchased their ticket at a fare that is available to the general public. 

Compensation for Flight Cancellations, Flight Delays, and Boarding Denial

In case of flight cancellations, flight delays exceeding 2 hours, and boarding denial, you will be provided: 

  • Customer care services that include food and beverages (based on your travel class and the length of the waiting period), along with 2 phone calls/emails/faxes, and 
  • Hotel accommodation (if an overnight stay is required) if your flight delay:
    • Exceeds 2 hours for a flight not exceeding 1,500km, or 
    • Exceeds 3 hours for a 1,500 – 2,500km flight, or 
    • Exceeds 4 hours for a flight exceeding 3,500km 
  • If Condor delays your flight by more than 5 hours, you can cancel it for a full refund within 7 days if your trip is no longer useful, and ask for the next available return flight (free of charge) to your starting point (if applicable). 

The compensation per passenger for flight cancellations, delays (above), and boarding denial is:

  • EUR 250 for flights not exceeding 1,500km
  • EUR 400 for domestic flights exceeding 1,500km 
  • EUR 400 for other flights between 1,500 – 3,500km
  • EUR 600 for all other flights not mentioned above 

You can receive the compensation in the form of a flight voucher or cash (your choice).

Note

  • In the case of boarding denials, you have the right to receive customer care services (above) plus alternative transportation to your destination under similar conditions. You also have the option to refuse the alternative transportation offered to you and have your fully refunded. Plus, in all cases, you will be entitled to claim compensation (as above) ranging from EUR 250 – 600, depending on the flight distance. However, you will not be entitled to any compensation if you are refused carriage for flouting Condor’s rules.
  • In case of flight cancellations, you will lose the right to compensation if:
    • Your flight is cancelled due to exceptional circumstances that Condor could not have avoided. 
    • You were informed of the flight cancellation:
      • At least 14 days before departure. 
      • 14 – 7 days before departure and your new flight’s departure is delayed by no more than 2 hours and its arrival time by no more than 4 hours
      • Less than 7 days before departure and your new flight’s departure is delayed by no more than 1 hour and its arrival by no more than 2 hours

50% Reduction in Compensation. If you’re offered an alternative flight to your final destination that arrives no later than 2, 3, or 4 hours based on the flight distance, your compensation will be reduced by 50%.
