Under the Etihad flight cancellation policy, only refundable tickets can be cancelled and fully refunded. You will know from the fare conditions mentioned in your ticket whether you can cancel your ticket, and if so, and how much you will be charged for cancelling. 

However, in some cases (see below), you can cancel your ticket and get a full refund of the unused portion of your ticket.

The Etihad Airways cancellation policy for COVID-19 has ceased to apply for flight bookings made after May 31, 2022. This means: 

  • Tickets issued/reissued till May 31,2022, must be fully utilized by September 30, 2022.
  • All COVID-19-related refunds must be completed by May 31, 2022.
  • The normal fare rules will apply for tickets issued before May 31, 2022 or with a travel date after September 30, 2022.

  • If you’re flying with a partner airline, you’ll need to contact them directly.

If your flight has been cancelled or delayed by more than 4 hours (3 hours for flights departing from Athens or Larnaca), or you were involuntarily denied boarding, you are also entitled to the following free of charge: 

  1. Meals and refreshment vouchers depending on your waiting time.
  2. 2 phone calls, e-mails, fax, or telex messages.
  3. Hotel accommodation if necessary.
  4. To-and-fro transportation (airport to hotel and back).
