Turkish Airlines Seat Selection Policy
Pet Turkish Airlines seat selection policy:
- The standard seat selection on international Turkish Airlines reservations for Economy Class Extra Legroom and Emergency Exit seats can be made for a fee after Jan. 1, 2021—from 355 days to 26 hours before departure. Seat selection is free within 26 hours of boarding.
- For international and domestic Turkish Airlines reservations, seats will be randomly assigned during the check-in process to passengers who do not purchase a seat for the domestic segment up to 24 hours before their flight.

The Turkish Airlines stopover program entitles you to a free stopover in Istanbul on most tickets and city pairs (listed below)—with a complimentary hotel stay. If you fulfill the stopover requirements (incl. visa), the stopover package is a great way to add value to your itinerary and spend a day or two in Istanbul.
How an Istanbul stopover works
If you can get a good deal on your Turkish Airlines flight, you can book a multi-city trip for the same price as a normal round trip, as long as Istanbul is included in the middle. Economy Class passengers are entitled to a free one-night stay in a four-star hotel in Istanbul, whereas Business Class passengers can get a free two-night stay at a five-star hotel.
