Bangkok Airways allows you several options for checking in, such as:
- Online check-in (also known as web check-in)
- Mobile check-in (with the Android or iOS app)
- Automated check-in
- Call center check-in (for domestic flights)
- Self-service kiosk check-in
- Airport desk check-in
Bangkok Airways Check-in Times
- Online Check-in Time
You can check in online from 24 hours to 1 hour before your flight’s departure. However, even after completing your online check-in, you must:
- For international flights
- Present yourself at the self-service check-in counter at least 90 minutes before departure to get your travel documents verified and drop off your check-in baggage.
- Reach the boarding gate at least 50 minutes before departure.
- For domestic flights
- Reach the airport at least 60 minutes before departure to visit the Bag Drop Counter. However, if you’re traveling without any check-in baggage, you can proceed directly to the boarding gate with your boarding pass.
- Reach the boarding gate at least 40 minutes before departure.
- Mobile App Check-in Time
You can check in with your mobile app from 24 hours to 1 hour before your flight’s departure. Even after completing your mobile check-in, you must:
- For international flights
- Present yourself at the self-service check-in counter at least 90 minutes before departure to get your travel documents verified and drop off your check-in baggage.
- Reach the boarding gate at least 50 minutes before departure.
- For domestic flights

- Automated Check-in Time
If you have applied for the automated check-in service, you will be automatically checked in 12 hours before your flight—and you will receive your boarding pass by email. However, even after your automated check-in is completed, you must:
- For international flights
- Present yourself at the self-service check-in counter at least 90 minutes before departure to get your travel documents verified and drop off your check-in baggage.
- Reach the boarding gate at least 50 minutes before departure.
- For domestic flights
- Reach the airport at least 60 minutes before departure to visit the Bag Drop Counter. However, if you’re traveling without any check-in baggage, you can proceed directly to the boarding gate with your boarding pass.
- Reach the boarding gate at least 40 minutes before departure.
- Call Center Check-in Time
If you’re traveling domestically (within Thailand) on Economy or Business Class, you can check in from a call center (by calling 1771) from 24 hours to 2 hours before departure.
- Self-Service Kiosk Check-in Time
You can check in from a self-service kiosk from 24 hours to 1 hour before your flight’s departure. However, you must:
- Forinternational flights
- Present yourself at the self-service check-in counter at least 90 minutes before departure to get your travel documents verified and drop off your check-in baggage.
- Reach the boarding gate at least 50 minutes before departure.
- For domestic flights
- Reach the airport at least 60 minutes before departure to visit the Bag Drop Counter. However, if you’re traveling without any check-in baggage, you can proceed directly to the boarding gate with your boarding pass.
- Reach the boarding gate at least 40 minutes before departure.
The self-service kiosks are currently available at the following airports in Thailand:
- Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi)
- Krabi
- Samui
- Airport Desk Check-in Time
Bangkok Airways recommends that you reach the airport:
- For international flights: At least 2 hours before departure.
- For domestic flights: At least 90 minutes before departure.
Airport Desk Closing Time
The airport counters close:
- 50 minutes before departure for international flights.
- 40 minutes before departure for domestic flights (within Thailand).
The closing times can vary by airport, so do check with a call center at 1771 (for domestic flights) or a Bangkok Airways ticketing office in your area.
Note
- Airport desk check-ins can be busy, so reach the airport early.
- The boarding gates close 15 minutes before departure.
- You will need to check in at the airport’s service desk in the following cases:
- If your airport doesn’t have online or self-service kiosk check-in.
- If you have requested special assistance and are traveling alone.
- If you’re traveling with a pet.
- If you’re an unaccompanied minor.
Minimum Connecting Time (MCT)
If you have a connecting flight on Bangkok Airways, the minimum connecting time is 75 minutes for all flights—international, domestic, or a mix of both.
How to Check-in Online at Bangkok Airways
If you’re holding a confirmed reservation, you can check in online via the website from 24 hours to 1 hour before departure. However, even after completing your online check-in, you must present yourself at the self-service check-in counter at least 90 minutes before departure for international flights, and 60 minutes before departure for domestic flights.

Passengers Not Eligible for Online Check-in
You will not be able to check in online if:
- You’re not holding an e-ticket
- You require special or medical assistance at the airport/on the flight
- You’re travelling on an Unaccompanied Minor booking
- You’re required to make an additional payment
- You’re travelling on a discount fare that requires an ID card at check-in
How to Check in with Bangkok Airways Mobile App
You can check in with Bangkok Airways’ mobile app from 24 hours to 1 hour before departure. Remember, even after you’ve checked in, you will have to present yourself at the check-in counter at least 90 minutes before departure for international flights, and 60 minutes before departure for domestic flights.

To check in with Bangkok Airways’ mobile app, you will need to log into your account, tap on the check-in button, and follow the prompts to select your flight and check in. After you’ve checked in, you will receive your electronic mobile boarding pass.

How to Use Bangkok Airways Automated Check-in
The automated check-in service is available:
- To all FlyerBonus members
- On select domestic routes within Thailand
- On flights marketed and operated by Bangkok Airways
After you register for the service and activate it:
- You will be automatically checked in 12 hours before your flight
- Your e-boarding pass will be directly emailed to your listed address
- You will be automatically allocated a seat number
- You will be allowed to change your seat up to at least 1 hour before departure through:
- The Manage your check-in link provided in your e-boarding pass, or
- The Online Check-in page at BangkokAir.com, or
- The mobile app
When to reach the airport when using the automated check-in service
- If traveling without checked baggage, reach the boarding gate at least 40 minutes before departure.
- If traveling with checked baggage, reach the airport’s Bag Drop Counter at least 60 minutes before departure (the opening times could be different, so do check in advance).
How to enable or disable the automated check-in service
You can enable or disable the automated check-in service by updating your preferences from the My Preference menu which appears under the My Profile option at FlyerBonus.com. You must do this at least 12 hours before your flight.

Passengers Not Eligible for Automatic Check-in
The following are not eligible for the automatic check-in service:
- Passengers not holding e-tickets
- Passengers requiring special/medical assistance
- Unaccompanied minors
- Passengers who need to make an additional payment
- Passengers traveling in a group of 9 or more under the same booking
- Passengers with discount fares requiring an ID card at check-in
How to Check in Through a Call Center
You can check in through a call center from 24 hours to 2 hours before departure by calling 1771.
This facility is available only to:
- Passengers holding an e-ticket (Economy/Business)
- Passengers traveling domestically within Thailand

Baggage self-tagging
You can self-tag your bags at the self-service kiosk as follows:
- Enter the number of bags you want to check in
- Click on the Continue button
Your bag tags will automatically be printed - Peel and save the area at the back of the tag for reference
- Attach the remaining part of the tag by sticking the two ends together through the bag’s handle
- Drop off the self-tagged bag at the Bag Drop Counter
You can also use the self-service kiosk to:
- Print your boarding pass
- Select your seat
Passengers Not Eligible for Self-Service Kiosk Check-in
The following passengers are not eligible for self-service kiosk check-in—and will need to physically check in at the airport desk:
- Unaccompanied minors
- Passengers traveling with pets
- Passengers requiring special assistance
How to Check in at the Airport Desk
You can check in physically at the airport desk from 3 hours to at least 90 minutes before departure for international flights, and from 2 hours to at least 60 minutes before departure for domestic flights. However, Bangkok Airways recommends that you check in at least 2 hours before departure for international flights and at least 90 minutes before departure for domestic flights.
At the check-in desk, you will be required to present:
- Your passport and/or original official ID card
- Your other travel documents
After you show your valid travel documents, you can check in your bags. You will be assigned a seat (unless you’ve already selected your seat at the time of booking) and given your boarding pass.
