  1. Airport Ticket Counter Check-in Time
    Delta recommends the following check-in times: 
  • For an international flight. Reach the airport at least 3 hours before departure and check in at least 60 minutes before departure—unless your airport requires an earlier check-in (refer to the check-in deadlines at international airports). And be at the boarding gate no later than 45 minutes before your flight’s departure time.
  • For a domestic flight. Reach the airport at least 2 hours before departure and check in before the deadline. The check-in deadline varies by airport and is never less than 30 minutes before departure—and earlier at some airports—so always double-check in advance. And be at the boarding gate at least 15 minutes before departure.
  • For Delta Shuttle service. The check-in closing time is: 
    • Without checked baggage—15 minutes before departure (30 minutes for Chicago, IL). 
    • With checked baggage—30 minutes before departure.

How to web check in at Delta Airlines 

You can web check in online from Delta’s website as explained below:

  1. Go to Delta.com 
  2. Now click on the tab marked Check-in 
  3. Find your trip by providing your: 
    1. Confirmation Number, or
      Credit Card Number, or
      Ticket Number, or
      SkyMiles Number 
    2. Last Name 
    3. The From Airport name 
  4. Click on the 🡪 button  
  5. All the flights on your trip will appear

    2. Select the passengers to check in
    3. Select the number of bags and pay for excess bags (if any)
    4. View, change, or upgrade your seat 
    5. Print or download your eBoarding Pass

On the day of travel:

  • Proceed directly for security check if you don’t have any bags to check in. 
  • Go to the baggage counter to drop off your bags and then head for security check and then to the boarding gate. 

Exceptions 

You will have to check in at the airport physically if:

  • Your flight is operated by a codeshare partner.
  • You’re holding an unconfirmed booking.
  • The online check-in facility is not available at the departure airport.
  • You have booked a wheelchair/special service. 
  • You are a minor travelling alone.
  • A pet is traveling with you.

How to Check in with Delta Airlines’ Mobile App (Fly Delta)

To check in with Delta Airlines’ mobile app for your domestic or international flight:

  • Download the Fly Delta App 
  • Check in as a guest, or log in, or register for a SkyMiles account
  • Add your trip confirmation number to access your trip

Passengers Not Eligible for Mobile Check-in

You won’t be able to check in with Fly Delta if:

  • Your flight is operated by a codeshare partner.

How to Check in at the Airport Curbside 

Passengers holding a confirmed Delta Airlines reservation can check in their bags at a curbside desk located at the passenger drop-off points at most U.S. airports. However, if you’re carrying oversized bags, you will have to bring them to the airport’s oversized baggage area. 

To check in at the airport curbside desk, you will need to: 

  • Identify yourself
    (you will need your photo ID, confirmation number, flight number, or e-ticket number and destination) 
  • Hand over your checked baggage to the Skycap

Does Delta Offer Airport Ticket Counter Check-ins?

Yes, you can check in for your Delta flight physically at the airport ticket counter from 3 hours to 60 minutes before departure for most international flights, and from 2 hours to 30 minutes before departure for most flights within the United States
