IndiGo usually allows several options to check in for a flight, such as:
- Web check-in
- Mobile check-in
(with the Android/iOS app) - Auto check-in
- Airport kiosk check-in
- Airport counter check-in
Note
- Due to the COVID-19 situation, web check-in is mandatory for passengers.
- It is mandatory to declare your health status at web check-in. You will receive your boarding pass only after you’ve declared your health status.
IndiGo Airlines Check-in Time and Deadlines
- Web Check-in Time
If you’re flying domestically within India, you can check in online through the website from 48 hours to 60 minutes before departure. If you’re travelling on an international route or taking connecting flights, you must check in physically at the airport counter.
Note
- IndiGo recommends that you reach the airport:
- At least 2 hours before departure for domestic flights within India.
- At least 4 hours before departure for international flights.
- Boarding gates close:
- 25 minutes before departure for domestic flights.
- 45 minutes before departure for international flights.

You can check in with the mobile app from 48 hours to 60 minutes before departure for domestic flights within India. For international destinations or connecting flights, you must check in at the airport counter.

- Auto Check-in Times
If you’re travelling on a domestic flight within India, you can auto check in (without seat selection) from 48 hours to 2 hours before departure—after which you will automatically receive your boarding pass 23 hours before departure. If you’re travelling to an international destination or taking a connecting flight, you will have to check in at the airport counter.

You can web check-in for a domestic flight from 48 hours to 60 minutes before your flight’s departure.
To check in from IndiGo’s website:
- Go to GoIndiGo.in
- Click on the Check-in tab
- Enter the following information to retrieve your flight booking:
- Your PNR/booking reference number
- Your Email or last name
- Click on the Check-in button
- Select your flight
- Confirm your check-in
You will automatically receive your electronic boarding pass by email.
Note
- Print and carry your boarding pass to the airport, even if you’ve checked in online.
- You must declare your health status when you web check-in. You will receive your boarding pass only after you’ve declared your health status.
- After reaching the airport:
- Proceed straight to security if carrying only a handbag.
- If carrying checked bag(s), head for the Bag Tag and Drop desk to drop off your luggage.
- You can print your bag tag at home and self-tag your bag(s) at the airport.
- Before traveling, be sure to comply with the arrival city’s rules.
Passengers Not Eligible for Online Check-in
You will need to physically check in at the airport if:
- You’re traveling to an international destination (out of India)
- You’re taking a connecting flight
- You’re holding an unconfirmed booking
- You require wheelchair assistance
- You’re an unaccompanied minor

You can check in with the mobile app from 48 hours to 60 minutes before a domestic flight’s departure.
How to check-in
To check in with the IndiGo mobile app:
- Log in by tapping on the check-in button
- Enter the booking reference and email/last name
- Select the passenger(s) who will be checking in
- Select your seat
- Declare your health status online
- Follow the on-screen prompts to check in
Your mobile boarding pass will appear on your screen (see below). You can email it to yourself, download and save it, print it, or share it.

Passengers Not Eligible for Online Check-in
You will not be able to check in with the mobile app if:
- You’re traveling to an international destination (i.e., out of India)
- You’re taking a connecting flight
- You’re holding an unconfirmed booking

Self-Service Kiosk Check-in
IndiGo self-service kiosk check-in procedure explained
If you’re flying on a domestic route within India, you can check in at an airport self-service kiosk and bypass the long check-in lines at the airport counter.
The check-in kiosks use touchscreen technology that allows you to:
- Check-in.
- Select your seat.
- Collect a printout of your boarding pass.
How to check in at a self-service kiosk
- Enter the following information:
- Your 6-digit PNR/booking reference number
- Your Email or last name
- Select your preferred seat from the seat map.
- Agree to the Dangerous Goods & Restricted Articles conditions.
- You will receive a printout of your boarding pass.
Airport Counter Check-in
IndiGo recommends that you reach the airport at least 2 hours before departure for domestic flights (within India), and at least 4 hours before departure for international flights.
Note
A facilitation fee of ₹200 will be charged for airport check-in with assistance.
When checking in at an airport counter, you will be required to present your ticket and travel documents (passport, visa, etc.), and check in your baggage.
When you check in, make sure that the name, flight number, and destination are mentioned correctly on your boarding pass. Don’t forget to collect your ticket, travel documents, and baggage receipts. Also, make sure your bags have been properly tagged, and you go through security checks and reach your boarding gate before it closes.
