You can check in online for an Aer Lingus flight as follows:
- For flights within Europe

- You will not be able to check in with the mobile app in the following situations—but you can check in online and print your boarding pass:

- If you’ve booked your flight through the Aer Lingus call center or a travel agency.
- If your flight departs from Faro, Donegal, Izmir, or Bourgas because the airports in the cities do not accept mobile check-ins.

You can check in at a self-service kiosk at Dublin (known as FastPass check-in) within the check-in deadline mentioned on your flight ticket.

You can onward check-in at Dublin airport (on the same ticket and day of travel) for select Aer Lingus flights as well as with these airlines:

Evening Before Check-in Deadlines at Dublin and Cork Airports
Passengers traveling on Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional from Dublin and Cork airports can present themselves (with each passenger’s passport details/valid ID card) at the airport and drop off their bags the previous evening per the timelines below. If traveling with immediate family, one family member is permitted to check in and drop off all passengers’ bags (but must carry each passenger’s passport/valid ID). The passengers must reach the airport the next morning at least 90 minutes before their flight’s departure.
- Dublin Airport: From 4pm–8pm for flights departing between 5:30am–8am the next morning.
- Cork Airport: From 4pm–7.30pm for flights departing between 6am–8am the next morning.
Same-Day Return Check-in at Dublin Airport
Passengers traveling with hand baggage only can check in for outbound and return flights to most destinations in the United Kingdom.
Boarding Times
You must reach your boarding gate no later than the time stated on your boarding card, or you will be denied entry.
- Flights from Ireland, UK, and Europe At least 30 minutes before departure.
(except Rome and Amsterdam) - Flights from Rome and Amsterdam At least 40 minutes before departure.
- Flights from North America At least 45 minutes before departure.

How to Check in Online on Aer Lingus?

You can check in online from Aer Lingus’ website 30 hours before departure till your airport’s closing deadline.
To check in online from Aer Lingus website for your upcoming flight:
- Go to AerLingus.com
- Click on the Check in tab
- To retrieve your upcoming flight:
- Enter your Booking Reference and Family Name
- …and click on the Check in button
- Select your upcoming flight
- Confirm your check-in
You will receive your electronic boarding pass by email—but you’re still required to print it. For printing the boarding pass, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer (it’s free to install).
After checking in online, on the day of your travel, proceed directly to the Bag Tag and Drop desk (available at select airports) to drop off your checked bag(s).
Note
- Aer Lingus automatically assigns seats at no extra charge for all passengers, but you can:
- Change your seat selection before checking in through Manage Trip, or

Passengers Not Eligible for Online Check-in
You will not be able to check in online if:
- You’re traveling to North America or Canada
- Your booking is not confirmed
- You require medical or special assistance
How to Check in with the Aer Lingus Mobile App
You can check in with your smartphone through the Aer Lingus mobile app from 30 hours before departure till your check-in deadline (as indicated in the section titled Mobile App Check-in Time). For transatlantic flights, you can check in from 24 hours to 2 hours before departure. Mobile check-in for flights to the United States and Canada is not available, which means you must check in physically at the airport.
How to check-in
To check in with the Aer Lingus mobile app, log in to the app, select your flight, and follow the intuitive on-screen prompts to check in for your flight.
After you check in, your mobile app will automatically show up on your screen. You can retrieve it later from the Boarding Passes section to show it at the check-in counter and departure gate.

How to Check in at the Airport Self-Service Kiosk (FastPass Check-in)?
You can check in from the self-service kiosks at Dublin Airport. FastPass check-in uses touchscreen technology that allows you to:
- Check-in in English, Italian, Spanish, German, or French.
- Access your booking via your booking reference number, passport number, credit card, or Gold Circle Club card.
- Select and check in the passengers in your booking.
- Indicate the number of bags you’re checking-in.
- Change your seat.
- Add your frequent flyer number.
- Print your boarding pass.
How to Check in at the Airport Counter?
Can you check in at the airport on Aer Lingus?
If you’re checking in at the airport, Aer Lingus recommends that you reach at least 3.5 hours before departure if you’re traveling to/from North America, and at least 2 hours before departure if you’re traveling within Europe or from London City Airport.
However, since check-in counter deadlines vary by airport, you should always find out in advance about your airport’s check-in deadline.
