EVA Air Check-in

EVA Air allows you to check in for your flight before or after reaching the airport, as explained below.

1. Online check-in
2. Mobile app check-in (Android or iOS)

EVA Air Check-in Time

When should I check in for my EVA Air flight?

EVA Air recommends that if you’re departing from a busy airport (such as an airport in the United States), you should arrive at least 3 hours before your flight. If you need help for checking in or boarding, you should reach the airport at least 2 hours before departure, but no later than 90 minutes before departure in any case. 

1. Online Check-in Time

You can check in online for your EVA Air flight from 48 hours to 90 minutes before departure.

• If carrying checked baggage, check in your bags at least 1 hour before departure.
• If not carrying checked baggage, check in at least 30 minutes before departure—provided you already have a self-printed boarding pass with you.

2. Mobile App Check-in Time

You can check in with your mobile app from 48 hours to 90 minutes before departure.

• If carrying checked baggage, check in your bags at least 1 hour before departure.
• If not carrying checked baggage, check in at least 30 minutes before departure—provided you already have a self-printed boarding pass with you.

3. Automated Check-in Time

Passengers availing of automated check-in (at select airports) will be automatically checked in 12 hours before departure—after which they will receive an EVA AIR Check-in Completion Notice by email.

4. Airport Self-Service Kiosk Check-in Time

You can check-in at a self-service kiosk from 5am to 1 hour before departure (actual operation hours may differ by airport). If carrying checked baggage, make sure you also check in your bag(s) at least 1 hour before departure, or you might lose your seat.

5. Airport Counter Check-in Time

EVA Air recommends that you reach the airport: 

• At least 3 hours before departure if traveling from a busy airport with strict procedures—such as from an airport in the United States. 
• At least 2 hours before departure if you’re a passenger with special needs (i.e., if you’re an unaccompanied minor, deaf, blind, or disabled, use a walker or a wheelchair, or need help with checking in and pre-boarding procedures).
• At least 90 minutes before departure in all other cases.

EVA Air Online Check-in

How to check-in online for an EVA Air flight

You can check in online through EVA Air’s website from 48 hours to 90 minutes before departure.
But you must make sure you’ve checked in your baggage at least 1 hour before departure. 

You have the option to check in online by providing your Booking Reference/Ticket Number (opens by default) or Infinity MileageLands Member/EVA Fans Login credentials. 

To check in online with your Booking Reference/Ticket Number:

1. Go to EvaAir.com
2. Click on the Online Check In tab
   (You can also check in through Manage Your Trip appearing in the Manage tab’s dropdown) 
3. Enter the following information to retrieve your flight:
   1. Your booking reference, or
      (a 6-letter and/or number code)

Your ticket number, or 

Your 13-digit EMD number 

2.  Your last name 
3. Your first + middle name (if applicable)

4. Click on the Log In button 
5. Select your flight 
6. Confirm your check-in 

You will receive your electronic boarding pass by email. 

To check in with your Infinity MileageLands Member/EVA Fans Login credentials:

1. Go to EvaAir.com
2. Click on the Online Check In tab 
3. Select the Infinity MileageLands Member/EVA Fans Login option as shown above
4. Enter your Infinity MileageLands Number or Email Address and respective password
5. Click on the Login button 
6. Select your flight 
7. Confirm your check-in 

You will receive your electronic boarding pass by email.

• The self-print boarding pass facility is available to passengers departing from the following airports:

• Taiwan: Taichung, Kaohsiung, Taipei (Songshan, Taoyuan Airport).
• Hong Kong/Macau/Mainland China: Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Beijing.
• North America: New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Vancouver, Toronto.
• Europe: Paris, London, Vienna, Amsterdam.
• Northeast Asia: Seoul (Gimpo, Incheon Airport), Tokyo (Haneda, Narita Airport), Sendai, Osaka, Okinawa, Nagoya, Matsuyama, Fukuoka, Sapporo. 
• Southeast Asia: Singapore, Phnom Penh, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Cebu. 
• Oceania: Brisbane
• If you’re not eligible or unable to print your boarding pass online, scan your printed confirmation at a check-in kiosk (select airports) and you will receive a printout of your boarding pass.

Exceptions 

You will not be able to print your boarding pass in the following cases—even if you check in online from one of the cities mentioned above:

• Your departure airport does not support this service.
• Your route includes a sector that does not support this service—in which case you won’t be able to print your boarding pass for any sector of your journey.
• You’ve purchased your ticket over the phone or online using a non-EMV 3D-secured credit card.  In such a scenario, you will need to show the credit card you used to purchase your ticket when checking in at the airport counter for the first segment of your flight.

Passengers Not Eligible for Online Check-in

You may not be able to check in online if:

• Your booking hasn’t yet been ticketed 
• You’re holding an unconfirmed booking
• You’re traveling to the United States on a paper visa
  (ESTA-cleared passengers can use the online check-in service)
• You require medical or special assistance
• You’re traveling in a group of 10 or more passengers on a single booking
• You’re traveling on a chartered flight 
• You’re traveling on an unaccompanied minor ticket
  (below 12 years of age)
• You need to pay additional fare or tax 
• You’ve upgraded your booking 
• You’re traveling with an infant

EVA Air Mobile App Check-in

How to check in with the EVA Air mobile app

You can check in with EVA Air’s mobile app 48 hours to 90 minutes before departure.
Make sure you also check in your baggage at least 1 hour before departure. 

How to check-in
To check in with the EVA Air mobile app, tap on the check-in button to log in, enter the required information, and follow the prompts to check in. You will receive your mobile boarding pass after the system confirms your login details. Just save the boarding pass to your device and show it at the airport’s check-in counter and departure gate. 

You can use the mobile app to: 

• View your itineraries 
• Search and book flights 
• Change or cancel your flight 
• Check your flight status 
• Manage your trip
  • Select a meal
  • Select or change your seat 
  • Request a special service 
  • Pre-purchase extra baggage 
  • Add your trip to your calendar
• Check-in online
  (scan your passport with your camera and save your boarding pass)
• Get your boarding pass 
• Receive important notifications in real-time
  (check-in reminders, boarding time, boarding gate info, promos, baggage notifications, etc.) 
• Manage your MileageLand account 
• Receive discounts, special offers, etc.

When using an e-boarding pass, remember the following…

• Save the e-boarding pass to Apple Wallet, Google Play, or EVA Mobile’s My Pass. If saved to My Pass, it will delete automatically after 14 days.
• Reach the boarding gate at least 30 minutes before departure. 
• Present your travel documents. 
• If carrying checked bags, proceed to the check-in counter and collect your baggage claim slip.

EVA Air Automated Check-in

How EVA Air’s automated check-in works

If you’re availing of the automated check-in service (available at select airports), you will be automatically checked in 12 hours before departure. You will then receive your EVA AIR Check-in Completion Notice by email. 

You can collect your boarding pass in any of the following ways:

• Via the URL provided in the EVA AIR Checked-in Completion Notice mail 
• Online or via the mobile app 
• From the airport’s self-service kiosk 
• From the airport’s check-in counter

Automated Check-in Conditions 

• You must be traveling on an EVA Air or UNI Air-operated international flight. 
• You’re on a return journey and your travel documents have been scanned by the passport reader.
• Your seat is reserved.
• You’re holding a confirmed booking. 
• You’re holding an electronic ticket.
• You haven’t requested any special service.

Airport Self-Service Kiosk Check-in

How to check in at an EVA self-service kiosk at the airport

You can check-in at a self-service kiosk (see airports* below) from 5am till 1 hour before departure, but the actual operating hours may vary by airport. If carrying checked baggage, make sure you also check in your bag(s) at least 1 hour before departure.

When checking in at the airport’s self-service kiosk, you can also:

• Change and/or confirm your seat

After you check in at a self-service kiosk: 

• You will receive a printout of your boarding pass
• You can also receive your bag tags (if needed)

Hello Kitty Check-in Kiosks

EVA Air’s dedicated Hello Kitty kiosks are available at Taoyuan International Airport—Terminal 2. These kiosks are available to passengers boarding EVA Air’s new Hello Kitty jets on all routes except those to/from Houston and Paris. 

To check in at the airport’s self-service kiosk:

1. From the home screen, select EVA Airways.
2. Confirm that you won’t be bringing any prohibited items onboard.
3. Select the number of passengers checking in on the same booking. 
4. Retrieve your booking and place your passport on the reader (photo page face down).
5. Search for your reservation in any of the following ways:
   1. Scan the Bar or QR code on your electronic ticket receipt or web online check-in boarding pass or APP QR code boarding pass.
   2. Enter your 6-character and/or number booking reference number. 
   3. Enter your 13-digit e-ticket number.
   4. Enter your Infinity MileageLands membership number
      1. Insert the membership card, or 
      2. Scan your membership QR code
6. Enter the requested information based on what you selected above. 
7. To register your mileage, tap the UPDATE button.
8. To change your seat, tap the CHANGE SEAT button.
9. Select the passenger who will be checking in the baggage and tap on CONFIRM, otherwise tap on NO CHECKED BAGGAGE.
10. Select the number of checked bags for each passenger.
    (Available at airports with the self-tagging facility. If carrying more than 4 bags, contact EVA’s airport counter).
11. Collect your bag tags.

12. Collect your boarding pass and lounge invitation card.

Check the information and proceed to the boarding gate.

Passengers Not Eligible for Kiosk Check-in

You may not be able to check in at a kiosk if:

• You’re holding an unconfirmed booking
• You don’t have an electronic ticket 
• You require medical or special assistance
• You’re an unaccompanied minor 
• You’re traveling with an infant
  (below 2 years of age)
• You have more than 2 connecting flights

How to Check in at the Airport Counter   

EVA Air recommends that you reach the airport at least 3 hours before departure if traveling from a busy airport with strict procedures (like the U.S.); at least 2 hours before departure if you’re a special needs passenger and/or need help with checking in or pre-boarding procedures; and at least 90 minutes before departure in all other cases.

At the check-in counter, you will be required to present your: 

1. EVA Air Ticket
   • Must be a valid air ticket. 
   • Should not have been mutilated.
   • Must match with your booking.
     
2. Travel Documents
   • A valid (if required). 
   • Entry, exit, and transit documentation.

If you don’t meet the documentation requirements, you may not be allowed to board your flight.

3. Baggage
   • Make sure your luggage is labeled and tagged. 
   • Make sure your checked and carry-on luggage complies with EVA’s flight safety rules and security regulations.

After checking in, be sure to:

1. Verify that the information presented on your boarding pass is entered correctly, such as your name, flight number, and destination. 
2. Check that your baggage is correctly tagged and you have your baggage receipts. 
3. Check that you have your tickets and travel documents have been returned to you.
4. Go through the other formalities, such as:
   1. Security checks
   2. Airport tax and service charge payment, etc.
   3. Be at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes before departure. 

How to Return Check-in 

If your flight is departing from Hong Kong, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Macau, and Taichung and returning within 48 hours to the same city, you can check in for your return flight at the same time as for your outbound flight. EVA’s online system will complete the check-in process for both segments automatically. This is especially useful for you if you’re traveling without any checked baggage.
