Iberia offers you several options for checking in, such as:

Iberia Recommends
Try to reach the airport 3 hours prior to your flight’s departure so that you have enough time to complete your check-in process, check in your baggage, and reach the boarding gate in time.
However, if you’re flying to the U.S., you must reach the airport’s check-in desk at least 4 hours before your flight’s departure, and proceed to the boarding gate 90 minutes before your flights takes off.
Be sure to meet the following check-in deadlines:
- Air Shuttle (Madrid-Barcelona) 15/20 minutes prior to departure.
- Short- and medium-haul flights 45 minutes prior to departure.

You can check in via Iberia.com:
- The day before the flight to 1 hour before departure if the flight is to/from the United States, Mexico, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Cuba, UK, El Salvador, and Guatemala.
- Immediately after purchasing the ticket till 1 hour before departure for flights to/from most other countries (such as Italy, Germany, Morocco, etc.).
Exceptions
The check-in deadline for flights:
- Departing from Lagos and San Jose is 90 minutes before departure.
- Departing from Caracas is 3 hours before departure.

- Early Boarding Pass. If you’re not carrying any checked baggage and your destination is within Spain, to the EU, or a Schengen treaty country, you can reach the Iberia contact points at the terminal 30 minutes before your flight’s departure.
- The Boarding Card cannot be canceled after it has been issued. This means if you don’t report to the boarding gate, it will be treated as a no-show.
- If you’re flying to the United States, you must reach the airport’s check-in desk at least 4 hours before departure, and proceed to the boarding gate 90 minutes before scheduled departure.

Passengers holding confirmed Iberia Airlines reservations can check in with their mobile app:

- Your surname
- Your booking code or ticket number
(If the booking code is 1A/ 7NS7PZ, enter the number appearing after 1A/, i.e., 7NS7PZ)
- Click on the Start your Check-in button
- Follow the prompts to:
- Select your flight
- Choose a seat
- Confirm data to check that all the data are correct
- Print, download or receive the boarding pass by email or SMS
If you don’t have any bags to check, go straight to the boarding gate. If you’re carrying baggage, be sure to drop it off within these check-in deadlines:

How can I receive my boarding pass after checking in?
That depends on how you check in—from a PC or your mobile device.
- If you check in from a PC, you have the option to:
- Receive your boarding pass by email.
- Print your boarding pass from a PDF doc.
- If you check in from a mobile device, you have the option to:
- Receive your mobile boarding pass by email.
- Download an image of your mobile boarding pass.
- Receive a link to the boarding pass by SMS so that you can download it later.
Exceptions
Online check-in is not permitted if:
- The origin and destination cities have a connecting IB5XXX flight operated by Vueling.
- Passengers who require special services such as a wheelchair.
- Minor passengers travelling unaccompanied.
- You’ve flying with a pet or a service dog.
- You need to present your credit card at the airport to reserve your seat.
- If your booking is for more than 1 passenger on an Air Shuttle flight.
- The airport does not accept online check-ins.

How to Check in with Iberia Airlines Mobile App
Checking in with Iberia’s mobile app is quite simple. Log in to the app, select your flight, and click on the check-in button. As soon as the system confirms your details, your mobile boarding pass will appear on your screen. It is a 2D code containing all your flight details (see below).

Iberia Airport Kiosk Check-in
The airport’s touchscreen kiosks allow you to check in for your flight, choose a seat, and print your boarding pass.
Iberia Airport Counter Check-in
When checking in at the airport counter, you will be asked to present your ticket and travel documents. Your bags will be labelled and tagged, and checked in, and you will receive your boarding pass and baggage receipt. You will then pay the airport tax and service charges and proceed for security checks.
