Garuda Indonesia Check-in Times
Garuda Indonesia advises passengers to reach the airport at least 2 hours before departure for international flights and at least 1 hour before departure for domestic flights.

If you’re holding a confirmed reservation, you can check in online via the airline’s website:
- For international flights. From 48 hours to 4 hours before departure.
- For domestic flights. From 48 hours to 2 hours before departure.

Passengers holding a confirmed reservation can check in with their mobile app:

Web check-in process
You can check in online from the Garuda Indonesia website as explained below:
- Go to Garuda-Indonesia.com
- Click on the Check-in tab as shown above
- Read the terms and conditions, check the box confirming you’ve read them, and click on the Continue button
- Access your flight booking by entering:
- Your Last Name
- Your 6-digit-cum-number Booking Reference number or 13-figure E-ticket number
- Click on the Continue button
All the flights on your trip will appear - Select the flight you wish to check in for
- Download/print your boarding pass
- Complete your check-in
On the day of departure:
- Go directly for security checks if you don’t have any bags to check in.
- Drop off your bags at the baggage drop counter, head for security checks, and then proceed to the boarding gate.
Exceptions
You will have to check in at the airport physically if:
- You don’t have an e-ticket
- You’re travelling with a non-seat-occupying infant below 2 years
- You need special assistance (incl. a wheelchair/stretcher) at the airport

Garuda Indonesia City Check-in
The City Check-in option allows you to check in for your flight at a Garuda Indonesia domestic sales office branch.
This service is available to all passengers from 48 hours to 4 hours before a flight’s scheduled departure time.
When checking in at a city office, you will need a valid photo ID and your 6-digit-cum-number booking reference number and/or your 13-digit e-ticket number, as well as your ticket, passport, visa, etc. You must also carry valid documents relating to the entry/exit/transit requirements of the country/countries you’re travelling to.
Garuda Indonesia Phone Check-in
You can check in for your flight by telephone through a Garuda Indonesia call center in your city. This service is available from 24 hours to 4 hours before departure.
However, you will need to check in physically at an airport counter if:
- You don’t have an e-ticket.
- You’re travelling with a lap infant below 2 years.
- You will be requiring special assistance at the airport.
- You’re below 12 years and travelling alone.
- You’re an unaccompanied minor.
- You’re travelling with more than 9 passengers in one booking.
- Your airport does not accept web phone check-in.
Garuda Indonesia Kiosk Check-in
You can check in for your Garuda Indonesia flight at a self-service kiosk at select airports*. This check-in service is available:

- Per the airport’s check-in deadline at other airports.
- For domestic flights

- Access your flight booking by entering the required details—such as your booking reference number, e-ticket number, or GarudaMiles membership number.
- Use the on-screen prompts to check in.
- Obtain a printout of your boarding pass.
Garuda Indonesia Airport Counter Check-in
For international flights departing from Jakarta, you can check in at an airport counter from 3 hours to 1 hour before departure. For international flights departing from other airports, you can check in from 3 hours to 45 minutes before departure, unless your airport specifies a different check-in deadline.
For domestic flights departing from Jakarta, you can check in from 2 hours to 45 minutes before departure. For domestic flights departing from other airports, you can check in from 2 hours to 30 minutes before departure, unless your airport specifies a different check-in deadline.
Travel Documents. When you present yourself at the airport counter, you must have your ticket and travel documents such as your ID papers, visa, passport, and any entry, exit, health, and other documents that are required by the country you’re flying from, to, or through.
After checking in and receiving your boarding pass, make sure that all the information on it is correct—such as your name, destination, and flight number.
Also, make sure your bags are properly tagged and you have your baggage receipts. After paying the airport tax and service charges, you will need to:
- Proceed for security checks.
- Reach your boarding gate within the time specified on your boarding pass. It’s always a good idea to reach the boarding gate:
- 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights.
