Vietnam Airlines offers Unaccompanied Minor services to children between 2 and 18 years old who are travelling alone. The services include checking in and boarding the minor on a flight, taking care of the minor on the flight, escorting the minor through immigrations and baggage claim, and handing them over to the designated person at the destination airport.
- For children aged 2 and below 6 years travelling alone on domestic and international flights, both Accompanied Cabin Crew and Unaccompanied Minor services are mandatory.
- For children aged 6 and below 12 years travelling alone on domestic and international flights, the Unaccompanied Minor service is mandatory but the Accompanied Cabin Crew service is optional.
- For children aged 12 and 14 years travelling alone on international flights, the Unaccompanied Minor service is mandatory but the Accompanied Cabin Crew service is optional.

What are the rules and restrictions for Unaccompanied Minors on Vietnam Airlines’ flights?
- Vietnam Airlines accepts Unaccompanied Minors between 2 and under 6 years of age on the following conditions:
- You must book only in Economy Class.
- You must book the Unaccompanied Minors service at least 24 hours before departure and the Accompanying Cabin Crew service:
- At least 3 days before departure on a domestic sector.
- At least 5 days before departure on an international sector.
- Your child will be escorted to the aircraft by a cabin member, looked after during the flight, and handed over to the designated adult legal guardian/parent at the arrival airport.
- Fees. UMs will be charged the applicable child fare plus:
- Unaccompanied Minors Fees:
- USD 50/international sector.
- VND 500,000/domestic sector.
- Accompanying Cabin Crew Fees: The adult fare on the same service class plus surcharges.
- Vietnam Airlines accepts Unaccompanied Minors between 6 and under 18 years on the following conditions:
- The Unaccompanied Minors service is:
- Mandatory for children between 6 and under 12 years (all routes).
- Optional for:
- Children between 12 and under 18 years on domestic flights.
- Children between 14 and under 18 years on international flights.
- The Accompanying Cabin Crew service is optional.

- The applicable adult fare if the child is between 12 and 18 years old.

At the Departure Airport

The person receiving the Unaccompanied Minor at the arrival airport must:
- Reach the airport at least 30 minutes before the flight’s scheduled arrival time.
- Present his/her identification documents to validate credentials as stated in the Handling Advice for Unaccompanied Minor form.
- Sign on the above form and take charge of the Unaccompanied Minor.
