Asiana Airlines Check-in

Asiana Airlines offers you several options for checking in for your flight. 

1. Online check-in

Asiana Airlines Check-in Time

Asiana Airlines recommends that you reach the airport check-in counter at least 2 hours prior to departure for an international flight.

1. Online Check-in Time

You can check in online:

• For U.S. routes. From 24 hours to 1 hour before your flight departs. 
• For international flights. From 48 hours to 1 hour before your flight departs. 
• For domestic flights. From 24 hours to 30 minutes before your flight departs. 

2. Mobile Check-in Time 

You can check in with the mobile app:

• For U.S. routes. From 24 hours to 1 hour before your flight departs. 
• For international flights. From 48 hours to 1 hour before your flight departs. 
• For domestic flights. From 24 hours to 30 minutes before your flight departs. 

3. Auto Check-in Time

• For international flights. From 361 days to 48 hours before your flight departs. 
• For domestic flights. From 30 days to 24 hours before your flight departs. 

4. City Check-in Time 

You can check in at Samsung-dong City Airport (COEX) terminal for domestic and international flights:

• From Seoul-Gimpo Airport. On the day of departure up to 2 hours and 20 minutes before your flight departs.
• From Incheon International Airport. On the day of departure up to 3 hours before your flight departs.
  

5. Self-Service Kiosk Check-in Time 

You can check-in at a self-service kiosk at select airports:

• For international flights. On the day of departure up to 60 minutes before departure.
• For domestic flights. On the day of departure up to 20 minutes before departure.

Points to Remember

• For international flights, reach the airport no less than 2 hours before your flight departs. 
• Some airports do not accept mobile boarding passes. 
• For group bookings of 10 or more, seat assignments cannot be made before 48 hours.
• Seat assignment is not permitted on codeshare flights operated by another airline (you will need to contact the other airline).
• Enable your browser’s pop-up window during online check-in.
• Keep adequate buffer time for security checks, checking in luggage, etc.
  

Asiana Airlines Online Check-in

You can check in online from the Asiana Airlines website: 

• From 24 hours to 1 hour before departure for flights to/from the U.S.
• From 48 hours to 1 hour before departure for international flights. 
• From 24 hours to 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights. 

To check in online from Asiana Airlines website:

1. Go to FlyAsiana.com 
2. Click on the Check-in tab 
3. Select and enter your:
   1. Booking Number/Flight Ticket Number, and 
   2. Boarding date
4. Click on the Search button
5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete your check-in

Note

• If you entered your frequent flyer number at the time of booking, go to Find My Trip and check in.  
• If your airport does not accept home-printed boarding passes, you must obtain a physical boarding pass from the airport’s designated counter.
• You can check in online even if you purchased your ticket from a travel agency. 
• When you’re checking in online, you can also:
  • Reissue your boarding pass
  • Change your seat or personal information
  • Cancel your check-in before the check-in deadline

Asiana Airlines Boarding Times 

• International Flights. Starts 25 – 40 minutes before departure and closes 10 minutes before departure.
• Domestic Flights. Starts 15 minutes before departure and closes 5 minutes before departure.

What to Do After You Check in Online

After you’ve checked in online: 

1. Print the boarding pass that you received by email at home. Alternatively, click on the link you received by SMS or Kakao notification to view your boarding pass.
2. After reaching the airport, proceed directly to the concourse with your boarding pass. You don’t need to stop at the airport counter. If you’re checking in bags, go to the counter for online check-in to have your bags processed. If your bag does not accept home-printed/mobile boarding passes, get your boarding pass from the Asiana Airlines airport counter and then go to the concourse. 
3. Proceed for security inspection and immigration. Make sure you’re carrying your passport and the travel documents required by immigration.
4. Proceed to your boarding gate with your boarding pass. Boarding for international flights starts 25 – 40 minutes before departure and closes 10 minutes before departure. For domestic flights, boarding starts 15 minutes before departure and closes 5 minutes before departure.

Asiana Airlines Mobile Check-in

You can check in with the mobile app: 

• From 24 hours to 1 hour before departure for flights to/from the U.S.
• From 48 hours to 1 hour before departure for international flights. 
• From 24 hours to 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights. 

To check in with Asiana Airlines mobile app:

• Click on the Check-in option 
• Enter your booking number/ticket number and departure date 
• Select your seat (optional)
• Enter your passport information and travel details (for international flights)
• Complete your check-in
  

You will receive your boarding pass after you complete your check-in.

Asiana Airlines Auto Check-in

If you apply for Asiana Airlines auto check-in service, you will be automatically checked in 24 hours before your flight’s departure. Your boarding pass will be delivered to you if the airport you’re departing from accepts mobile boarding passes.

You can auto check-in: 

• For international flights 361 days to 48 hours before departure
• For domestic flights 30 days to 24 hours before departure

How to auto check-in
To auto check-in on your Asiana Airlines reservation as a guest:

1. Go to FlyAsiana.com
2. Click on the Check-in tab (it appears below) 
3. Select/enter your:
   1. Booking Number/Flight Ticket Number, and 
   2. Boarding Date
4. Click on the Search button
5. Select the reservation you want to auto check-in for
6. Select or change your seat (optional) and click on the auto check-in button
   1. For international flights, enter your passport details
   2. For domestic flights, enter your contact details 

Note. Your boarding pass will be delivered to your email or cellphone number, so make sure you enter the correct email address/number.

Asiana Airlines City Check-in

If your Asiana Airlines flight is departing from Incheon Airport, you can check in and go through boarding and immigration procedures on the day of departure at the following City Airport Counters:

• Samseong-dong City Airport. From 05.20 – 18.30, up to 3 hours before departure. 
• Seoul Station City Airport. From 05.20 – 19.00, up to 3 hours before departure. 
• Gwangmyeong Station City Airport. From 06.30 – 19.00, up to 3 hours before departure. 

Eligibility 

• You cannot check in at a city airport if:
  • You’re travelling in a group on charter or on a non-scheduled flight.
  • You require special assistance, such as a wheelchair or unaccompanied minor service.
  • You’re travelling with large baggage, musical instruments, and/or pets.
  • You’re taking a codeshare flight of other airlines on an Asiana Airlines flight number.
• You cannot check in for a domestic or an international flight from Gimpo Airport, and for a domestic flight that departs from Incheon International Airport.
• You’re allowed to check in at a city airport if you’re taking a codeshare flight operated by Asiana Airlines on an affiliate company flight number. 

Asiana Airlines Self Check-in Kiosk Check-in

You can check in physically at an airport self-service kiosk (unmanned boarding machine) up to 60 minutes before departure for international flights and up to 20 minutes before departure for domestic flights within Korea. To check in, you will need your:

• Your passport (for international flights)
• Your 6- or 8-digit reservation number, or
• Your 13-digit e-ticket number 

The following airports have self-service kiosks:

• For domestic flights, you can check in up to 20 minutes before departure at the following airports:

• Seoul Gimpo (GMP)
• Daegu (TAE)
• Cheongju (CJJ)
• Yeosu (RSU)
• Gwangju (KWJ)
• Jeju (CJU)
• For international flights, you can check in up to 60 minutes before departure at the following airports.

• Incheon International Airport (ICN)
• Busan (PUS)
• Gimpo (GMP)
• Los Angeles (LAX)
• Fukuoka (FUK)
• Frankfurt (FRA)
• London Heathrow (LHR)
• Tokyo Narita (NRT)
• Osaka Kansai (KIX)
• Sapporo (CTS) 

Aside from checking in, you will also be able to:

• Print your boarding pass
• Change your seat
• Enter your mileage number/change it
• Print your baggage tag (at some airports)

After getting your boarding pass, you can check your bags at the baggage counter.

Asiana Airlines Airport Counter Check-in 

You can always check in at the airport within the designated check-in deadlines. After you present your travel documents and passport, you will be able to check in your luggage, you’ll be assigned a seat, and given your boarding pass. 

The check-in deadlines at different airports are as follows:

• International Flights.
  • 60 minutes before departure. Harbin (HRB), Honolulu (HNL), Chicago (ORD), Seattle (SEA), San Francisco (SFO), New York (JFK), LA (LAX), Frankfurt (FRA), Istanbul (IST), and Beijing (PEK).
  • 50 minutes before departure. Incheon (ICN), Manila (MNL), Nha Trang (CXR), Phu Quoc (PQC), Chengdu (CTU), Taipei (TPE), Ulaanbaatar (UBN), Jakarta (CGK), Hong Kong (HKG), Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Sydney (SYD), Rome da Vinci (FCO), London Heathrow (LHR), Hanoi (HAN), Phuket (HKT), Bangkok (BKK), Okinawa (OKA), and Shanghai Pudong (PVG).
  • 45 minutes before departure. Hangzhou (HGH), Shenyang (SHE), Chongqing (CKG), and Shenzhen (SZX).
  • 40 minutes before departure. Other airports, as per the regular deadline for international flights.
  • 30 minutes before departure. Weihai (WEH), Yantai (YNT).
• Domestic Flights (within Korea). Up to 20 minutes before departure at all domestic airports within Korea. 

Notes

• The check-in counter hours may change due to airport conditions and aircraft operations.
• If you arrive after the boarding deadline, you may not be allowed to board your flight.
