Saudia (earlier known as Saudi Arabian Airlines Booking) is Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier. Headquartered in Jeddah, Saudia’s main hub is at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport and its secondary hubs are at Riyadh (King Khalid International Airport) and Dammam (King Fahd International Airport).

Saudia Online Booking

To make an online flight booking on Saudia:

1. Go to official website Saudia Arabian
   The Book Your Flight page will open by default
2. Select the number of travellers 
3. Enter your travel dates
   (under When Do You Travel) 
4. Select Flexible dates if you’re flexible with your travel dates (optional)
5. Enter the promo code (if you have one)
6. Choose your ticket category
   (Hospitality, Business, or First)
7. Select your departure and arrival airports
   (in the box marked Going and Coming Back)
8. Follow the prompts to select your flight and pay

You will receive your e-ticket at the email ID you registered when purchasing your ticket.

How to Check Your Saudia Flight Status

You can learn about your Saudia flight status over the phone by calling the Saudi office in your city/airport. 

You can also check your flight status online from the website through the Flight Information tab. 

To check your flight status online:

• Go to the homepage, Saudia.com
• Click on the Flight Information tab
  • To check your flight status by flight number
    • Select the Depending on the Flight Status option 
    • Choose the Leaving (departure) date
    • Enter the flight number 
  • To check your flight status by flight schedule
    • Select the According to the Flight Schedule option 
    • Select the date
    • Enter the departure and arrival airports

You can make changes to your flight booking by phone or the local office/call center in your city/country, or online through Saudia’s website or mobile app. 

How to Manage Your Saudia Booking Online

You can use Saudia’s Manage Booking functionality to quickly and easily manage your flight booking online via the website (or mobile app). 

You can use the Manage Booking functionality to:

• View your flight reservations 
• Select/change seats 
• Purchase excess baggage 
• Update your contact details
• Make changes to your flight(s)
• Cancel your flight

To manage your Saudia flight booking online:

1. Go to Saudia.com
2. Click on the Manage Booking tab
   The Reference No. option will open by default (it allows you to search for your flight by the reference number you would have received when you booked your ticket)* 
3. Enter your booking reference number and last name
4. Click on the search box (🡪) 
5. Select your flight and follow the prompts to:
   1. Select/change seats 
   2. Purchase excess baggage 
   3. Update your contact details
   4. Make changes to your flight(s)
   5. Cancel your flight

*To access your flight by your E-Ticket number, click on the E-Ticket No. option, enter your E-Ticket number and last name and follow steps 4 and 5.

Time To Think Service

Saudia offers its Time to Think services to extend the time limit for your booking after you’ve made a reservation online through Saudia.com. After purchasing the service for a fee, you’re allowed to hold your seat at a guaranteed fare. The Time to Think service is available for select destinations and dates. 

You can choose the service in the last step of your reservation process on the payments page by choosing the Need More Time to Think option instead of Pay Now. You will be charged for the service and notified before its time expires. 

The Time to Think service is available for 48 hours for many international flights departing in 5 or more days. For domestic flights, the service is available for 24 hours for flights departing in 3 days or more days. 

A few important points to remember:

• The Time to Think fees are non-refundable and not a part of the ticket price. 
• If your flight is changed by Saudia, you can reclaim your voucher without any additional charge by phone or online through the website’s contact form.
• A change in the reservation—such as date/time/class—will result in the cancellation of the voucher.
• The service applies only to flights operated by Saudia.

Saudi Arabian Airlines Seat Booking 

You can book your seat in advance (for a fee) on all flights operated by Saudia at the time of purchasing your ticket or later. The remaining prepaid seats are available free of charge from 12 hours before departure. 

• Prepaid Seats
  The important points to bear in mind are:
  • Saudia does not allow passengers to reissue, rebook, reroute, or refund prepaid seats.
  • Vouchers are valid for 1 year from the date of issue. 
  • No-Shows will result in the loss of the full value of your seat selection voucher.
  • Saudia may change your seat selection due to:
    • Safety reasons or safety-related procedures.
    • If you do not adhere to the airline’s safety rules (in which case you may also be denied a refund).
    • Operational circumstances or reasons beyond its control (in which case you also have the option to ask for a refund of the seat selection fee by calling Saudia (or the call center in your city) or filling out the Online Contact Form.

Note. In some cases, passengers requesting a baby bassinet may not be assigned one (due to operational reasons).

• Extra Seats
  Saudia allows passengers to purchase an extra Economy Class seat, subject to the following conditions:
  • You must book in advance by phone. 
  • The Extra Seat service is only available:
    • To Economy Class passengers.
    • On domestic and international flights within the Saudia network. 
  • Extra Seats cannot be upgraded to Business or First Class.  
  • The free baggage allowance will be based on the fare conditions of your ticket.
  • Denied boarding compensation (if applicable) will be restricted to one passenger.
• Ladies Seats
  You can pre-select a Ladies Seat by calling customer service number or visiting a sales office, subject to the following conditions:
  • The Ladies Seat selection service is only available for domestic flights within Saudi Arabia. 
  • Alfursan Golden/Elite Plus members and co-passengers listed in the same booking are entitled to a full-service fee waiver. 
  • Alfursan Silver/Elite members only are also exempt from a service fee waiver (but not the co-passengers in the same booking).
  • No-Shows will result in the full loss of value of the service fee.
  • Rebooking, reissuing, and refunds are not permitted. 
  • You must order this service 24 hours before departure (not earlier).
  • You can book this service only on a Guest (Flex) ticket.
• Exit Row Seats
  Passengers who book an Exit Row seat:
  • Must be fit enough to pull/push/shove or open the emergency exit doors in an emergency and remove obstructions and assist other passengers in case of an emergency.
  • Must be at least 15 years old.
  • Must be able to read and understand the emergency evacuation instructions in English (written/visual/verbal) from the crew. 
  • Locate the emergency exits and respond to oral directions or hand signals of the crew.
  • Communicate information with other passengers.
  • Must not bear the responsibility of caring for small infants/children/incapacitated passengers. 
  • Must be willing to help passengers evacuate the aircraft from the Emergency Exit in case of an emergency.

Alfursan’s membership levels include Blue, Silver (Sky Team Elite), and Gold (Sky Team Elite Plus). 

• Alfursan Blue. This is the starting level of membership—free and valid for life. It offers a wide range of benefits by allowing you to earn Reward Miles whenever you travel with Saudia or on a SkyTeam airline, as well as when you transact with commercial partners.
• Alfursan Silver (SkyTeam Elite). The next level of membership, Alfursan Silver is the equivalent of SkyTeam Elite. It includes all the benefits of Blue membership, plus several other privileges when you fly with Saudia or a SkyTeam partner airline.
  • To qualify for the Silver tier, you need to earn 25,000 status miles or fly 20 international sectors in a single calendar year. 
  • To maintain your Silver membership, you need to earn 20,000 status miles or fly 15 international sectors in the next calendar year.
• Alfursan Gold (SkyTeam Elite Plus). The top-most level of membership. Alfursan Gold is the equivalent of SkyTeam Elite Plus status. It comes with maximum privileges and top-notch levels of service.
  • To qualify for the Gold status, you need to earn 50,000 status miles or fly 40 international sectors within a single calendar year. 
  • To maintain your Gold membership, you need to earn 40,000 status miles or fly 30 international sectors in the next calendar year.

Special Services Provided On Board

Passengers with disabilities: 

• Will be welcomed on board by a flight attendant who will ensure that they are comfortably seated. 
• Receive assistance (in case of semi-ambulatory passengers) in getting to/from their seat when boarding and disembarking as well as to/from the aircraft lavatory. 
• Receive assistance (if requested) with loading and retrieving carry-on baggage items and assistive devices stowed on board. 
• Receive assistance with opening meal packages and identifying meal items. 

Disability Services Available on Saudia include: 

• Wheelchair services (available at all airports free of charge)
  • You can request 3 types of wheelchair services:
    • Ramp wheelchair assistance service (WCHR) if you need wheelchair assistance for walking long distances. 
    • Stairs wheelchair assistance service (WCHS) if you need wheelchair assistance for climbing stairs, in which case you will be provided a Passenger Aid Unit (PAU) to get into the aircraft, provided you can walk from the cabin door to your seat. 
    • Cabin wheelchair assistance service (WCHC) if you are completely immobile and cannot walk (i.e., you are a paraplegic, quadriplegic, or hemiplegic). When making a WCHC request, you must do so in advance and provide your weight. After booking the service, you will be taken to the aircraft and seated next to your companion.
  • You can check in your wheelchair at the ticket counter or the gate. Wheelchairs that require disassembly should preferably be checked in at the ticket counter to ensure proper handling. After checking in your wheelchair, you can use a wheelchair provided by Saudia.
  • If you’re using your own wheelchair at the connection airport, do inform Saudia in advance. However, this may not be feasible due to time constraints. Book a wheelchair service with Saudia, instead. 
  • Electric-/battery-powered wheelchairs: 
    • Will be checked in with your luggage. 
    • Wheelchairs operating on dry/wet/gel cells and non-spillable electric storage batteries are permitted, subject to certain safety procedures.
    • Carry instructions on how to disassemble and reassemble your wheelchair, along with the type of batteries used. 
  • Wheelchair batteries can remain attached to the wheelchair if they can pass upright through the aircraft cargo compartment and be stowed upright. 
  • You must inform the airline whether your wheelchair’s batteries are spillable or non-spillable, as this will help adopt the correct handling procedures. 
  • Saudia provides several features to accommodate your special needs, such as:
    • Movable armrests to help move and transfer passengers more easily from the seats to the aisle. 
    • A specially designed wheelchair for in-flight usage. 
    • On select aircraft, a lavatory with:
      • An extra-wide door and low threshold
      • Assist bars 
      • Other disabled-friendly features

• Free stowage of canes and crutches
  Crutches and telescopic canes will be:
  • Collapsed and stored on the seatback or in a purse, or
  • Stowed in an approved closet or baggage area (never in lavatories), or
  • Stowed in overhead bins, or
  • Stowed under your seat flat on the floor, as long as it does not stick out into the aisle or block the emergency exit row)

Wheelchairs on Flights to/from the United States

• Saudia provides special stowage space for 1 foldable wheelchair in the passenger cabin on a first-come-first-served basis.
• Additional wheelchairs will be transported in the aircraft hold as Saudi Arabian checked baggage. 
• The dimensions of your wheelchair after folding must not exceed:
  13in (width) x  36in (depth) x 42in (height). 
• Your wheelchair will be returned to you upon arrival.

Wheelchairs on Flights to/from France

• Wheelchair services at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport must be requested at least 36 hours before departure.
• The normal waiting time at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport for a wheelchair is 45 minutes.
• If you request less than 36 hours before departure, the waiting time will depend on the availability of wheelchairs on the day of travel. 

Stretcher Service

Saudia provides stretchers and accessories, like blankets, pillows, and curtains to passengers who are unable to use regular seats. 

• To book a stretcher service, you must inform the airline in advance.
• You can also book a mobile crane, Lift-O-Mobil, that is capable of raising and landing passengers from aircraft. 

Medical Oxygen Cylinders

• Saudia provides free medical oxygen on its flights, subject to advance arrangements. 
• Only authorized Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POCs) can be carried on the aircraft. 
• If you need medical oxygen before and after the flight, you must carry your own medical oxygen. 
• You must be accompanied by someone who knows how to operate the oxygen system during the flight.

Note. If you’re a special needs passenger and Saudia fails to provide a suitable flight or the required services to you, are entitled to claim compensation equivalent to 200% of the value of your ticket/coupon.
